چکیده

Hand exoskeleton pose monitoring is of great importance in the rehabilitation training stroke patients to ensure precise robotic trajectory control and provide a patient recovery assessment mechanism. In this paper, low-cost sensor unit based on principle photoelectric reflection proposed measure multi-segment continuous structure hand exoskeleton. The consists five photosensitive elements that rotation angle an arrangement adjacent segments, each integrated with sensing element, estimate actuator’s motion. An accurate device user-friendly interface then designed for calibration elements. experimental results indicate sensitivity exceeds 0.047 V/° elements, hysteresis repeatability errors are less than 1.1% 1.8%, respectively. A comparison between output benchmarked by VICON motion capture system demonstrates can bending mean error 3.23 degrees.

Synergy-based hand pose sensing: Reconstruction enhancement

Many applications in human-machine interfaces, information visualization, rehabilitation and entertainment are calling for hand pose reconstruction systems that are both accurate and economic. Unfortunately, economically and ergonomically viable sensing gloves provide limited precision due to imperfect and incomplete correspondence of sensing models with the anatomical degrees-of-freedom of the...

Synergy-based hand pose sensing: Optimal glove design

In this paper we study the problem of optimally designing glove–based sensing devices for hand pose reconstruction to maximize their potential for precision. In a companion paper we studied the problem of maximizing the reconstruction accuracy of the hand pose from partial and noisy data provided by any given pose sensing device (a sensorized “glove”) taking into account the knowledge on how hu...

Continuous passive motion device for hand rehabilitation.

Prototypes have been designed and manufactured for a lightweight portable device which continually moves all the joints of the hand passively through a range of motion. Inflatable bag modules in the palm of the hand are ganged together to create the required range of motion. A battery-operated air pump cycles compressed air to the modules. Initial clinical experience with patients who have flex...

A Resistance Compensation Control Algorithm for a Cable-Driven Hand Exoskeleton for Motor Function Rehabilitation

The resistance compensation, especially the friction compensation in the Bowden cable transmission is a difficult issue to be handled. Aimed to the resistance reduction requirement in the active rehabilitative motion, a resistance compensation control method is proposed. Based on the simplified transmission model, the resistance, including the cable friction as well as the mechanical moment of ...

Challenges and Opportunities in Exoskeleton-based Rehabilitation

Robotic systems are increasingly used in rehabilitation to provide high intensity training for patients with motor impairment. The results of controlled trials involving human subjects confirm the effectiveness of robotenhanced methods and prove them to be marginally superior over standard manual therapy in some cases. Although very promising, this line of research is still in its infancy and f...
